Visa is not required for U.S. citizens traveling to the Republic of Serbia.

Visas can be requested by submitting an application to the Consulate General of the Republic of Serbia in New York or Consular Section of the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia, Washington D.C. or to the Consulate General of the Republic of Serbia in Chicago, depending on in which state you live, in person or by mail. Visa Requirements:
- Valid passport (visa will be stamped in the passport).
- Completed Visa Application Form (MS Word or PDF format). A copy of the Application Form is acceptable.
- Invitation letter. For a private visit, a certified invitation letter from a relative or a friend from Serbia is needed (form in MS Word and .pdf format). If applying for a business visa, please enclose
(a) an official invitation from the company in Serbia, stating the nature of business, expected duration of the visit as well as the name and address of the company or institution you are visiting (form in Word and .pdf format); and
(b) a letter from the US company that you are representing.
- Note: Transit visa applicants are required to obtain the visa for the country they will enter after the transit through Serbia.
- Proof of residence in the USA (Green card, Working permit, Student's visa)
- Proof of sufficient funds in hard currency
- Certificate that a health fund shall cover the medical costs in Serbia, if any
- Visa processing fee paid using a Money Order (cash acceptable when applying in person).
- Stamped, self-addressed envelope if applying by mail (Certified, Express Mail, Fed Ex, UPS)

FEES
Proof of immunization is not required.
Consulate General reserves the right to request additional documentation.
Incomplete application will not be accepted and it will be returned to the applicant at his/her cost. When filling in the application forms, please print and note all relevant information, including your full address in the U.S. (P.O. Box not accepted), your telephone number, e-mail address etc.
Visa processing time: up to 7 working days. If an approval from the competent authority of the Republic of Serbia is needed, the processing period is prolonged to 3 or more weeks..
Permit to Re-enter, Refugee Travel Document
Person traveling on a US Permit to Re-Enter or a US Refugee Travel Document should submit a visa application form (MS WORD or PDF format) along with the same documents for ordinary passports. Please allow up to 4 weeks for visa processing. There will be a non-refundable processing fee in the amount of US $45.00 per application.

. Foreigners may bring in an unlimited amount of foreign currency to Serbia. At the border, they have to declare the amount of cash they bring into the country and receive a receipt. Upon leaving the country, the amount of cash they carry out cannot exceed the amount on the receipt.
